Ash and Phil’s decision to elope to Nelson, BC resulted in one of the most breathtaking films I have created. Far away from the traditional wedding venues of the UK, this Canadian elopement was defined by raw nature, towering mountains, and complete intimacy. As a destination wedding videographer, capturing the scale of the Kootenay Rockies against the quiet, personal moments of their vows was a dream.
Vows Amongst the Peaks Nelson offers a landscape that is truly cinematic. We ventured into the mountains to find the perfect secluded spot for Ash and Phil to exchange their vows. The silence of the wilderness, broken only by the wind in the trees, added a profound weight to their promises. This wasn’t just a ceremony; it was an adventure. Using drone videography, I was able to capture the vastness of the landscape, placing their love story in the context of the wild, untouched beauty of British Columbia.
Elopements are unique because they strip away the performance of a wedding and focus entirely on the connection between two people. Ash and Phil’s day was unhurried and deeply personal. From the quiet morning preparations in their cabin to exploring the shores of Kootenay Lake at sunset, the film reflects the freedom of doing things exactly their way.
