Norfolk Wedding Videographer

A Photographer’s Wedding Film | Meg Duffield Photography & Martin

There are weddings that feel special to film, and then there are weddings where the pressure and privilege are both raised at the same time. Filming the wedding of Meg Duffield Photography and her husband Martin was very much the latter.

When a fellow wedding supplier asks you to document their day, you know two things immediately, the expectations will be high, and the moments will matter even more. As a Norfolk wedding videographer, this was one of those weddings I genuinely looked forward to all season.

Set in the heart of rural Norfolk, their outdoor marquee celebration had everything you want from a summer wedding, space, light, character, and an atmosphere that felt more like a relaxed garden party than a formal event.

A Rural Norfolk Marquee Wedding

Meg and Martin chose a private countryside setting for their wedding, surrounded by open Norfolk landscape and uninterrupted views across the fields. The marquee sat perfectly within its surroundings, acting as a blank canvas that allowed Meg’s creative eye to shape the entire aesthetic of the day.

This is where rural Norfolk weddings really shine. You don’t need elaborate venues when the landscape does the work for you. The combination of natural light, open space, and thoughtful styling created a wedding that felt both elevated and completely effortless.

From a filmmaking perspective, I always lean into these environments with a documentary approach. The drone was used to capture the scale of the location, the marquee within the landscape, and the feeling of being completely immersed in the countryside. Those wider establishing shots help ground the story of the day and show just how special these private rural celebrations can be.

A Wedding Full of Industry Creatives and Energy

What made this wedding particularly memorable was the people. Surrounded by fellow photographers, wedding suppliers, and close friends, the atmosphere had a unique energy from the very start. There was an understanding in the room of what goes into a wedding day, which often results in a more relaxed, present, and emotionally open experience.

The ceremony took place in Meg’s parents’ garden, creating an intimate and personal setting for their vows. These are the moments that always stand out in a film, not because they are visually complex, but because they are emotionally honest.

Throughout the day, there was a constant flow of laughter, connection, and celebration. Speeches were heartfelt, the dancefloor was full, and the entire wedding carried a natural rhythm that never felt forced or overly structured.

Meg and Martin wanted their film to reflect exactly that, real moments, natural emotion, and a sense of energy that captured the spirit of the day rather than just the visuals.

Filming a wedding for a fellow creative is always a reminder of why documentary wedding filmmaking matters. It is not about staging perfection, it is about preserving atmosphere, connection, and the feeling of being there.

Planning a Marquee Wedding in Norfolk?

If you are planning a private marquee wedding in Norfolk and want a relaxed, cinematic film that captures the natural energy of your day, I would love to hear from you.

Kind words

“Where do we start… I have known and worked with Tom for years, so when I got engaged, I knew immediately that I wanted Browns Films to capture our wedding… Tom has filmed many outdoor marquee and garden weddings, so I was confident that his natural, cinematic style would perfectly suit our day.

The wedding film is everything we hoped for and more! From the breathtaking drone footage of our ceremony to the candid moments with our friends and family, Tom captured the fun, relaxed atmosphere perfectly. And the dance floor footage? Epic!

Although I already knew Tom and felt completely at ease, my husband Martin and our bridal party also commented on how relaxed and unobtrusive he was. He worked seamlessly in the background, capturing every detail without us even noticing.”
