Kelly and Oliver’s wedding at Worstead Estate was the definition of a classic English summer celebration. Warm, relaxed energy, and the kind of effortless atmosphere that makes documentary wedding filmmaking so rewarding.
As a Norfolk wedding videographer, Worstead Estate is one of those venues that really comes alive in the summer months. The combination rustic barns, open parkland, and soft Norfolk countryside light creates a naturally cinematic backdrop without needing to over-style anything.
From the moment the day began, there was a calm confidence to everything. Nothing felt rushed or overly posed. Instead, the focus was on enjoying the day as it unfolded, which always translates beautifully on film.
As the afternoon moved into golden hour, the light across the estate became something special. This is always one of my favourite parts of a wedding to film. The combination of warm light, natural movement, and genuine emotion creates moments that feel both cinematic and completely unposed. As we roamed the estate, we were able to capture incredible shots of Kelly and Oliver.
As Kelly and Oliver made the most of this time, spending it together in the landscape, their guests enjoyed the cocktail hour nearby. These quieter moments are often the ones that define a wedding film, simple, natural, and full of atmosphere. I really focus on not taking couples away for too long, but I fell it’s also important for them to have a little moment together to reflect on the day and their love for each other.
Inside the barn at Worstead Estate, the atmosphere shifted into something more intimate. The space was beautifully styled with soft candlelight and rustic wooden beams, creating a warm contrast to the bright summer day outside.
The speeches brought plenty of emotion and laughter, with genuine reactions from family and friends that added depth and character to the film. As the evening developed, the energy naturally built into a full celebration, with guests spilling between the barn and the surrounding grounds as the night went on.
What made this wedding so enjoyable to film was how naturally everything flowed. Nothing felt staged or forced, just a relaxed, joyful celebration set in one of Norfolk’s most beautiful countryside estates.
