If you’re getting married at Pylewell Park, you’ve picked one of the best spots in the UK for a wedding film. As a Hampshire wedding videographer, I’ve filmed here enough to know that while the venue is massive, the best shots happen when you know exactly where to be at the right time.
My approach at Pylewell is simple. I capture the feel of the estate with a mixture of drone videography over Pylewell Park & the coast to set the scene, then focussing on the real, unscripted moments between you and your guests during the ceremony and drinks reception.
Most couples want to head to the beach for their portraits. Having filmed at the venue multiple times, I’m familiar with the timing for the best light on the Pylewell coast. We’ll head there for 15 minutes of filming when the sun is low, ensuring we capture the Golden Hour light for your highlights film without missing your entire drinks reception. I’m always conscious of not taking you away from guests for too long, but also ensuring that you enjoy the day and the venue you have paid for. If you would rather stay put at the bar then that’s also absolutely fine!
You can’t film at Pylewell without a drone. You can, but I feel it would be a crime against wedding filming! Drone videography is the only way to show the scale of the house and how close it sits to the coast, including the stunning views overlooking the Isle of Wight.
I am a fully licensed drone pilot, which allows me to get those sweeping aerial shots of Pylewell Park & the coastline safely and legally. It adds another dimension to your wedding video that ground-level cameras just can’t match.
In terms of style, when I film I try to avoid doing “staged” or “cheesy.” I’m big on filming you as you. Being yourselves and feeling relaxed on what is one of the important days of your lives. Because I know the layout of Pylewell Park so well, from the grand staircase to the woodland walks I can work quickly and stay in the background documenting as you move through the wedding day.
No intrusive kit: I don’t use big lights that ruin the “vibe” of your party. I really try and blend into your wedding day as much as possible. I’m often unseens and forgotten about until the end of the evening when I say goodbye.
Natural footage: I focus on the laughs, the tears, and the energy of the dance floor in the Pavilion.
If you’re looking for a recommended Pylewell Park wedding videographer who knows the best spots on the estate and how to handle the technical side of filming there, I’d love to chat.
